Visiting Vancouver soon, looking for information on the gay nightlife? I'm a gay man and would like to know more about the gay nightlife in Vancouver. Best places to dance, cruise, lounge, people watch, meet friendly people...or whatever. Just looking for some information from someone familiar with the scene. | | i live in vancouver and their is gay friendly places everywhere! | How is the gay scene in vancouver? first, sorry about my english, i'm brazilian
well, I am planning to travel to vancouver. I've seen some photos and I think it's the most beatiful place on earth... but I have some questions =)
Is it really friendly? for example, if I kiss my boyfriend in a mall, could I create some problems?
and what can I expect about nightlife... exciting, boring.. ? | Kiss ur bf in a mall shouldn't be a problem, too many people so everyone minds their own business
Nightlife.. I wouldn't know, i'm 16. | How's the lesbian/gay scene different in Vancouver, Toronto and Montréal? Please give your personal opinions!!
Thanks :) | I live in Vancouver and it's fairly "healthy" to say the least... Don't know about Toronto - lived there too long ago, and I'm originally from Montreal, and this lifestyle has always flourished there, hopefully you can handle maybe the language situation there.
Rachelle In High Heels | Does it mean you are gay by using umbrella in Vancouver? I live in Vancouver. Some one told me like if it rains outside, and u use the umbrella when u go out. Then that means you are gay? I've asked a Canadian guy about dis question. He said he didn't even know that. So weird... | | No it does not mean you are gay at all it just means you don't want to be rained on. Use your umbrella freely! I live in Vancouver as well so you can trust me on this one! XD | Is Vancouver a generally gay-friendly city? I am 14 and gay and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I might be moving to Vancouver at the end of this year. I was just wondering if it's a gay-friendly place. | Greetings...
Don't let that person who "shot you down" re having this inquiry with the travel section, THEY are incorrect in their way of thinking since I take it you are of a lifestyle that is applicable to this room..
Two things here for you...
First off, I am a long time married cross dresser with a very supportive, understanding, accepting, knowledgeable, and helpful wife who has taught me all the traits to emulate women from presentation, to walking, standing, sitting, mannerisms, make up, hair, nails, etc and I have an extensive wardrobe including 42 pair of HIGH HEELS (and I do mean HIGH), and all of this for me is a lifestyle and not a hobby or a passing fancy .whim.
.
SECONDLY - I live in Vancouver...!!!
It's a half decent city - it can be a bit behind the times occasionally, bit, but it is indeed a gay friendly city as well as towards all alternate lifestyles..
The weather here is decent - minimal snow - never extremely hot in the summer, quite picturesque, only thing is it's very expensive here, and will get even more so,,Some situations leave a lot to be desired, but overall, it acceptable... Employment is not overly abundant, and it's become a "melting pot" of many cultures, and some are far far far too prominent for my liking..
The drug scene downtown is NOT NICE...!!! IN fact, it's a damned disgrace... And far too many homeless people living on the streets...
If you are contemplating on moving here, I do hope it will be with family, and not on your own, and become another STREET KID, trying to get by and think that the world owes them a living.. There are a vast amount of pitfalls for anyone planning on trying this lifestyle..
So if this is your intention, I would say stay away, because without proper means of support, and if you are gay, you could become just another statistic
I'm telling you all this in a sincere fact of life scenario...
I take it that you've shown interest in Vancouver all because of the recent Olympic games..
This city isn't always "Party Central" I can assure you..
If you need more info, drop me a note, and if you are not honest and sincere with me on all of this, you won't get any kind of response or help..
